*Eligible dependent memberships must be age 22 or under and still enrolled in school.  Dependents whose age is over 18 and are NOT enrolled in school are not eligible as dependent membership.

Joining Fees

There is a $25 Capital Development Fee per person for first time members or any membership inactive for more than six months ($75 maximum per family)

Monthly and Annual Payment Plans

Monthly bank draft: Filling out a bank draft for will authorize your bank to automatically pay our monthly membership dues. Draft does not stop after one year – call for cancellation terms.

Annual: When you join as an annual pay member, you will pay 12 months plus a partial thirteenth month (depending on the day of the month you join).

Additional Charges: A $25.00 fee will be charged for all returned checks. After two returned checks the member or program participant must pay by cash or money order.

Financial Assistance

The Owen County Family YMCA is a Membership Organization open to all people. Through the generosity of donors, we are able to provide programs and services to those who may not otherwise be able to participate. Financial Assistance may be available for YMCA Membership Plans. Some limitations apply. Based on financial need. Ask the Financial Director Today.

Seniors (age 60+) get in for FREE on Fridays! Any one age 60 or older can enjoy the OC Family YMCA facility with a FREE admission every Friday.

Away Members

Any out of town YMCA member may visit the Owen County Family YMCA three time per year at no charge. After the free visits, a guest pass can be purchased for half price. If you plan to visit another YMCA, it is a good idea to call ahead. YMCA policies vary.

Give the gift of Health!

YMCA Gift Cards are available. Gift cards can be used on classes, memberships, or personal training.  Stop by the member service desk and give the gift of health to someone you know.

Membership Service Promise

YMCA staff recognizes that service to our members is the most important part of our job. Therefore, we make this promise:

We will deliver quality programs that meet the needs of our members and guest. We will provide opportunities for members to be involved as volunteers.

Carry Your Card

The Y greatly appreciates the opportunity to see your membership card each time you enter our facility. Please have it readily available to scan. Replacement cards are $2.00

Parking

While we know parking can be a challenge. We ask that you do not double park or park in the handicapped spaces. Cars not in compliance will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Locker Policy

Please make sure to bring a lock while you are using the facility, and take your belongings with you when you leave. The Y is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Locks are not available for purchase.

YMCA Member Code of Conduct

The YMCA is committed to providing a safe, caring, healthy and respectful environment for all members and guests. To promote these values, we ask individuals to act appropriately at all times when they are using our facilities or participating in our programs.

Our Member Code of Conduct dictates positive interactions with other, language free of anger or vulgarities and with actions at or above a generally accepted standard of conduct. The following conduct can lead to suspension or termination of membership:

Inappropriate attire

  • Physical contact with another person in an angry or threatening manner
  • Angry or vulgar language including swearing, name calling or shouting
  • Any demonstration of sexual activity or sexual contact with another person
  • Harassment of intimidation by words, gestures, body language or any other menacing behavior
  • Theft or behavior that results in the destruction of property belonging to members, guests, or the YMCA
  • Carrying or concealing any weapons or devices or objects that may be used as weapons
  • Using or possessing illegal chemicals, tobacco or alcohol on YMCA property, in YMCA vehicles or at YMCA sponsored programs
  • Any other conduct of an inappropriate, threatening or offensive nature

The protection of our members and guests participating in our programs and/or using our facility is a paramount interest of the Owen County Family YMCA. The Owen County Family YMCA reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who violates membership the memberships code of conduct.

Age Policies

General Facility Children under the age of 9 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Children age 10-12 must be accompanied by an Adult
Child Watch Ages 6 weeks to 8 years
Wellness Center Members under the age of 14 are not permitted in the fitness center. Members age 14 may use the fitness center under the following conditions: completion of a full equipment orientation by a Wellness Coach
Group Exercise Classes For their safety no children under age 14 are permitted to be in the Group Exercise Room while class is in session. Some classes may be offered or suitable for youth
Open Swim
  • Children ages 9 and under must be accompanied in the water by an attentive parent or adult caregiver, actively engaged and within arms reach of the child at all times. The adult must be wearing appropriate swimming attire and must not leave the child unattended for any reason
  • Children ages 10 and older may be in the pool without a parent present. However, they must adhere to posted rules and any additional rules set forth by the Lifeguard(s)
  • Any swimmer under the age of 18 may be asked to exit the pool or swim with a parent if the aquatics staff feels as if he/she do not possess the required skills to swim safely
Locker Rooms Children age 4 and over are not permitted in the opposite sex locker rooms but are encourage to use the family changing rooms. Adults not required to use the family changing rooms are asked to use the regular locker rooms. Use of cell phones and photo equipment is not permitted within the locker rooms.
