Board Meetings

Board meetings are typically held monthly and are closed to the public. However, an annual public meeting is held in March. Contact CEO for details.

Leadership Update

June 8, 2026:

After four years as CEO, Sherri Knieriem will be leaving the Owen County Family YMCA late summer to pursue another opportunity. While we are sorry to see her go, we wish her every success in the future.

Before becoming CEO, Sherri served the Y as a volunteer for 9 years. Throughout her leadership, she provided steady direction and helped guide many improvements to both the facility and the YMCA’s internal operations.

Our staff, programs, and mission will continue without significant change. A search committee has been formed and will work with the national YMCA to identify our next CEO. We will share updates as they become available. In the meantime, Senior Staff member Amy Weaver will oversee operations until a new CEO is appointed.

We thank Sherri for her four years of service as CEO and for her lifelong commitment to the YMCA mission.
